Bay Area Basketball, Inc. (B.A.B.) is a local business that is committed to serving the youth in the Tampa Bay area. The purpose of our organization is to support the programs that assist children in households that are experiencing financial hardships.  These programs provide the kids with the opportunity to participate in a basketball program where they will build a great work ethic and discipline. We believe that these programs will help the children achieve academic success and that is why we strive to support them. 

On June 28-30, 2024, we will be hosting our 11th Annual Bay Area Showdown, which is a 5 on 5 basketball tournament.  A portion of the proceeds from this event will be used to support the following organizations:

• Brandon Bolts, a local youth basketball program

• My Island Ballers Inc., a youth basketball program from St. Thomas that was affected by hurricanes Maria and Irma

• P.A.L., Police Athletics League

• USA Ballers, a local youth basketball program.  

In our ten years of hosting the tournament, we had the support of several NBA players and NFL players that plan to be in attendance this year as well; Marreese Speights (Orlando Magic), Dominique Jones (Dallas Mavericks), Stephen Graham (New Jersey Nets), Josh Selby (Cleveland Cavaliers), John Henson (Milwaukee Bucks), DeShawn Stevenson (Atlanta Hawks), Joey Graham (Cleveland Cavaliers), Eric Griffin (Utah Jazz), Kevin Jones (Cleveland Cavaliers), Darius Washington (San Antonio Spurs), Chris Rainey (Indianapolis Colts), Simeon Rice (Tampa Bay Bucs), Dominique Roger-Cromartie (New York Giants) and Mike Jenkins (Oakland Raiders).  We had an incredible turnout of 26 teams and averaged an event attendance of 1,000-1,500.

B.A.B. Inc. and its staff are 100% committed to bringing this quality event to the Tampa Bay Area. In our previous years some of the proceeds from this event have also gone to assist several of the islands and my hometown that have been affected by the hurricanes like Panama City, FL, St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Puerto Rico, and Dominica.  We look forward to being able to assist more areas throughout our communities with the help from our sponsors. 

We realize to sustain this grand effort we will have to count on the assistance of those in the community that engage themselves in helping Non-Profit and For-Profit organizations with donations and sponsorships. Together we can make a huge impact in this community and to the lives of our youth. We look forward to working with you and/or your company.
